Fees
McQuillen Psychology offers fees that are consistent with the average fee for a Clinical Psychologist and are significantly lower than the current fee recommended by the Australian Psychological Society. Please contact us today for an explanation of our fees.
In some cases we may be able to offer a bulk billed service to clients who are experiencing severe financial hardship however these session times are limited.
Clients seen under the DVA, Open Arms, You In Mind/One Door, CTP/Workcover or other third party schemes are seen for the fee provided by those schemes.
Medicare Rebates
McQuillen Psychology clients are eligible to obtain the maximum rebate provided by Medicare for psychological services. To receive a Medicare rebate you must be referred by a General Practitioner with a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) under the Better Access Initiative. Alternatively you can be referred directly by a Psychiatrist. Once a Mental Health Care Plan is created you will be able to access Medicare rebates for up to 10 sessions per calendar year.
Please Note: You will need to bring your Referral from your GP or Psychiatrist and your Medicare card to your FIRST appointment otherwise you may not be able to claim a rebate.
PLEASE NOTE: Medicare does not provide a rebate for couples therapy or forensic services such as the preparation of reports for legal proceedings.
Private Health Fund Rebates
If you are a member of a private health fund you may be able to access rebates from them for psychological services. Please speak with your provider to find out about what they cover. As a general rule you can only claim either a Medicare or private Health Fund rebate and your fund will have their own rules about how that works so please check with them.
Cancellation Fees
Please note that we charge fees for appointments cancelled with less than 24 hours notice. This will be explained in detail at time of booking. If you do not attend a booked session you will generally be charged the fee for the session so please contact us to cancel if you cannot make the session even if it’s last minute we reduce the fee if you notify us. Please understand that not attending and not advising us generally means we have no opportunity to give the session time to another client or use the time productively for any other purpose.
Payment Terms
Payments may be made by cash, EFTPOS or credit card (Visa/Mastercard).
All payments are due at time of service.
